About the Presenter

Chief Clive Savacool has been in the fire service since 1996. His career has been primarily with Contra Costa County Fire Protection District where he was one of the youngest chief officers in the history of the agency. He’s held many positions including Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineer, Captain, Training Chief, Battalion Chief and VP for the firefighter's union.

 

Busy call volume and years of toxic exposures resulted in permanent respiratory damage. In 2014, Clive left CCCFPD to improve his health and founded Exposure Tracker, which tracks toxic exposure, injuries and communicable disease exposure for firefighters. The program has been adopted by hundreds of firefighters and a number of agencies. 

 

Clive was given a Board Proclamation by the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. Through supportive organizations and firefighters, Clive has dedicated his life to the health and welfare of his brothers and sisters in the fire service. This spring, he put a badge and uniform on as a Fire Chief.
